N-Power Agro Programmes on Youths Empowerment in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria (Published)

This study investigated the N-Power Agro programmes on Youths Empowerment in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. One research questions and One hypothesis was formulated to guide the study. ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study, while stratified and simple random sampling techniques were used in selecting 473 respondents. A 11 – item questionnaire titled: N-power Agro Programmes and Youth Empowerment Questionnaire (NAPYEQ) was used for data collection. The instrument was validated and the reliability estimate, using Cronbach alpha statistics, ranged from .68 to .74. Data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for the research questions, while the t-test statistic was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The result showed that N-power Agro programmes has significantly impacted Youths empowerment in Akamkpa to a great extent. Based on the findings of the study recommendations were made among others that more sensitization programmes should be conducted to expose youths on the scope of N-power Agro Programmes.

Amusement Parks and Economic Development of Youths in Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State, Nigeria: Implication for Environmental Adult Education (Published)

This paper examined amusement park and economic development of youths in Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State, Nigeria: Implication for environmental adult education. To achieve the purpose of this study, one null hypothesis was formulated to direct the study. Survey research design was adopted for the study. The sample of the study consisted of five hundred and forty-four (544) respondents drawn from the area of the study. The instruments for data collection were Tourism Activities Questionnaire (TAQ) and Economic Development Questionnaire (EDQ) developed by the researchers which were validated by three (3) experts in Measurement and Evaluation. The reliability was established through test-retest reliability. Pearson Product Moment Correlation analysis was adopted to test the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the analysis revealed that there is a significant relationship between amusement park activities and economic development in the area. Based on the result of the findings, it was recommended that amusement parks such as ranch resort, Tinapa, Marina resort among others should be established, managed and maintained to encourage tourism activities in this regard.

Vocational and Technical Education Orientation and Instruction for Job Creation among Youths and the Unemployed in Nigeria (Published)

The paper looked at vocational and technical education orientation and instruction for job creation among youths and the unemployed in Nigeria. Vocational and technical education is the foundation upon which the skills of workforce are built, without a great further progress in vocational and technical education orientation and instruction, we cannot hope for future employment and reliant graduates with the required skills and flexibility for a fast growing industry in the global age. Vocational and technical education as an instrument for job creation for youths and unemployed in Nigeria. It is on this recognition that the researcher focused attention on the following sub-headings to address the topic: Rationale for vocational and technical education orientation and instruction; vocational systems packages for instruction; utilization of equipment and facilities for instruction for job creation; vocational and technical education orientation and instructional methods for job creation among youth and unemployed; and problems of vocational and technical education orientation and instruction. It was based on these reviewed literature that recommendations were made for job creation for youths and unemployed, It was recommended that adequate fund should be made available to fund the orientation and instruction of vocational and technical education programme for job creation for youths and unemployed among others.
