Organizational Effectiveness of Brewing Firms in South East Zone of Nigeria: Exploring the relative importance of Dynamic Capabilities (Published)

This study was conducted to investigate the relative importance of dynamic capabilities on the organizational effectiveness of brewing firms in the South East Zone of Nigeria. The survey research design was used in the conduct of the study.  The population was 204 and sample size 135 determined through Taro Yamen’s (1967) sample size determination formula. The questionnaire used in the study achieved 76.47% response rate. Data analysis was done with regression method.Findings of the study indicated that dynamic capabilities had a significant positive influence on organizational effectiveness of brewing firms in South East Zone of Nigeria; It was also revealed thatreconfiguration capability had the most important influence(Beta =0.406, t=2.904, p<0.05),  learning capability came second  (Beta 0.217, t=2.211, p<0.05) and sensing capabilitythird(Beta =0.039, t=2.179, p<0.05). It was recommended that brewing firms in South East Zone of Nigeria should give attention to formulating and implementing their strategies for organizational effectiveness in line with findings made in this study.

Relationship between File Transfer Protocols Assisted Knowledge-Sharing and Organizational Effectiveness (Published)

The study investigated relationship between File Transfer Protocols assisted knowledge-sharing and organizational effectiveness. Two research questions and a hypothesis were designed to guide the study. The population comprised all the medical personnel in the University of PortHarcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers State. The sample of the study consisted of 80 medical personnel of whom 30 were medical doctors and 50, randomly drawn from the population.  The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire code-named Relationship between File-Transfer-Protocol Assisted Knowledge Sharing and Time Wastage Prevention Assessment Questionnaire (RFTPAKSTWPQ). The fool test for the internal consistency of the instrument was conducted using Cronbach aphc statistical. Mean and standard deviation were used to analyzed the results with the aid of z-test. Results revealed that  file transfer-protocol-assisted knowledge sharing relates to prevention of time wastage in treating the in-patients in Federal Government-owned hospital in PortHarcourt, Rivers State and no relationship exists between knowledge sharing with the file transfer protocol and knowledge sharing without file-transfer-protocol in preventing time wastage in the in-patients’ treatment in Federal Government-owned hospital in PortHarcourt, Rivers State. The study recommend that State and Federal Governments should prioritize FTP-assisted knowledge sharing and integrate it to drive hospital services and hospital leaderships at both federal and state levels and trained should be strengthened in each of FTP-assisted knowledge sharing so that many ignorant ones will appreciate effectiveness associated with sharing information via FTP.

The Influence of Age on Culture and Effectiveness (Published)

Age is associated with experience in many things. The paper examined the effect of age on corporate culture and organizational effectiveness in the Nigerian banking industry. A total of 388 managers were randomly drawn from a population of 13,339 managers of all the 24 banks in Nigeria. The instruments used for data collection were questionnaire and oral interview. A total of 320 copies of the questionnaire were retrieved and analyzed. Spearman’s Rank Correlation Statistical tool was used to test the hypotheses. The findings revealed that age is significantly related to corporate culture and organizational effectiveness. Based on the findings we concluded that age have significant effect on corporate culture and organizational effectiveness. The study therefore recommends that Managers should cultivate adaptive culture that enables organizations to overcome the problems associated with different stages of organizational development.
