The Role of Students’ Activities in Enhancing Social Responsibility among Jordanian Universities Students (From the Point Of View of Al al-Bayt University Students) (Published)

This study aimed at identifying the role of students’ activities in enhancing social responsibility among Jordanian universities students (from the point of view of Al al-Bayt university students). Some students activities, such as social, cultural, sports and artistic activities were chosen to determine this role.  The descriptive analytical method, through the collection of data on the variables of the study was used; primary data were collected using questionnaires which consisted of two sections: The first included demographic data related to Al al-Bayt University students. The second included two sections: First section on student activities at Al al-Bayt University which was divided into four sub-sections included (28) paragraphs, and the second on enhancing student social responsibility included (12) paragraphs. The study population consisted of all students involved in the different university activities at different academic levels and specialization fields at Al al-Bayt University, during the academic year 2018/2019, and the study sample was of (432) which represented 16% of the study population. The study and analysis of the results show that there is a statistically significant relationship between the study variables and the enhancement of social responsibility, in which sports came in the first rank and had the most influential among all other variables, followed by social, cultural and artistic activities respectively. It has been shown that universities are fully aware of the importance of student activities in promoting students’ social responsibility and are trying their utmost to activate these activities significantly on the ground. The study recommended that, the need to increase the interest in students activities among university students by universities inside and outside the university premises to make the student interact with other people through the available activities and thus, enhance social responsibilities among the students.

The Attitudes of Undergraduate Students towards Using E-exams for Assessment in Jordan (Published)

The present study aimed to explore the attitudes of undergraduate students towards using e-exams for assessment in Jordan. It also aimed to identify the challenges facing Jordanian universities in using e-exams for assessment. The researcher designed a questionnaire. A purposive sample was selected from the University of Jordan. It consists from (93) undergraduate students who were selected from two sections of the (national education) course at the University of Jordan. Questionnaire forms were distributed to the sample members by hand. All the forms were retrieved. However, (87) forms are considered valid for statistical analysis.  The response rate is (100% Percentages), standard deviations and means are calculated. It was found that respondents have positive attitudes towards using e-exams for assessment in Jordan. It was found that the severity of the challenges facing Jordanian universities in using e-exams for assessment is high. It was found that e-exam makes students feel less stressed than the paper-based exam.

Undesired Behaviors among the Heads of Academic Departments in the Southern Region Universities of Jordan from the Faculties View (Published)

The study aimed at recognizing the level of undesired behaviors among the Heads of academic Departments in the southern region universities of Jordan from the faculties view. The sample consisted of (332) faculties chosen by stratified random method according to the two variables of university and college. The two researchers prepared a questionnaire for the purposes of the study validity and reliability were computed and the results were appropriate for the purpose of this study. Means, Standard deviations, ANOVA, and MANOVA were used for answering the questions. the results indicated that the level of   Undesired Behaviors Among the Heads of academic Departments in the Southern Region Universities of Jordan from the Faculties View was mid in general. All the domains also came mid. The administrative efficiency domain came in the first rank; whereas, the personal characteristics domain came in the last rank. The results indicated that there are no statistically significant differences for the level of  undesired Behaviors among the Heads of academic Departments in the universities attributed to the variables of university and college and to the interaction between them.

The Degree of Commitment of the Higher Education Institutions in Jordan to the Strategic Planning Standards (Published)

The main purpose of the present study is to identify the importance of strategic planning, the strategic planning standards and the obstacles against the commitment to strategic planning in the higher education institutions. Thereafter, to shed light on the degree of commitment of the higher education institutions in Jordan to the strategic planning standards. The study has produced a cluster of results and recommendations, the most significant of which is that the higher education institutions in Jordan are highly committed to the strategic planning standards. The researcher also recommends conducting more spaced out studies on all the educational institutions in Jordan to specify the best strategies used in those institutions to be generalized on the rest of the educational institutions.
