Development of Anecdote Text Writing Teaching Materials Based on Process Approach for Students Class X Sma Negeri 1 Stabat (Published)

This study aims to: (1) describe the development of anecdote text writing based on process approach in class X SMA Negeri 1 Stabat, (2) describe the results of expert material assessment and design of teaching material of anecdote text based on process approach; (3) know the effectiveness of anecdote text teaching material based on process approach This type of research is a developmental study based on the development model of Borg and Gall. The test subject consists of material experts, design experts, Indonesian teachers, and students class X SMA Negeri 1 Stabat. The validation results of the material experts in the development of anecdote text writing teaching material based on the process approach showed that the average acquired 95.1% with very good criteria. The results of the design experts average acquisition of 85.5% with very good criteria. Results of data obtained from two Indonesian teachers showed that the teaching material in the form of anecdote text writing module based on the process approach for students class X SMA 1 Stabat developed is according to needs analysis. Tests on students class X SMA 1 Stabat showed that (1) the average percentage of individual trials is 79.8%. with “good” criteria, (2) the average percentage of small group trials is 84.02% with “very good” criteria, and (3) the mean percentage of the limited field group test is 83,04% with “very good” criteria. The effectiveness of experimental product experiment results has increased from pretest to posttest. In the pretest conducted obtained an average of 71.25. then on the post test obtained an average of 80.25. This proves that the teaching material to write anecdote text based on the process approach for students class X SMA 1 Stabat is more effective with a significant difference of 9% as well as worthy of use as an independent material.

Development of Fable Text Writing Teaching Materials Containing Character Education With Contextual Approach to Students Class Vii Smp Negeri 2 Kabanjahe (Published)

This study aims to describe (1) the need of teaching materials to write fable text writing material containing character education with contextual approach, (2) the feasibility of teaching material to write fable text writing material containing characteristic education  with contextual approach, (3) test result of writing fable text containing character education with contextual approach. This type of research is research and development based on Borg & Gall development model. The subjects of this study consist of material experts, design experts, Indonesian teachers, and students on individual trials amounted to 3 students, small group trials amounted to 9 students, field trials of 32 students of students class VII SMP Negeri 2 Kabanjahe. Expert material validation results include the content feasibility component with an average of 91.66% on very good criteria, presentation feasibility obtained an average score of 96.25% on very good criteria, language eligibility obtained an average score of 95, 83% on the criteria on very good, and the contextual feasibility obtained an average score of 84.72% on very good criteria. The design expert’s validation results include the module size component having an average score of 100% on very good criteria, the module cover design has an average score of 78.57% on good criteria, and the module content design has an average score of 83.33% on very good criteria. Individual test results obtained an average score of 80.06% on good criteria. The results of small group trial obtained an average score of 87.46% on very good criteria. The result of limited field trial obtained an average score of 93.61% on very good criteria. Student learning outcomes before using the the material with an average score of 65,71% on good criteria and students’ learning outcomes after using the teaching materials averaging 81.25% on very good criteria. Thus, teaching materials to write fable text material containing character education with contextual approach that has been developed is feasible for use in the learning process as a source of student learning.

Development of Teaching Material of Short Story Text Writing Based on 3m Technique (Copying-Processing-Developing) on Students Class Xi Sma Negeri 3 Medan Academic Year 2017/2018 (Published)

This study aims to know the results of the development of teaching materials to write short story text based on 3M technique (copy-process-develop) students class XI SMA Negeri 3 Medan. The research method used is research and development (R & D) method proposed by Sugiyono refers to Borg & Gall model. The trial subjects consisted of 3 students with individual trials, 9 small group trial students, and 44 students with limited field trials. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, questionnaires and short story text writing tests. The research results show that (1) material expert validation includes content feasibility with an average of 85.22% on very good criteria, presentation feasibility with an average of 85.06% on very good criteria, and language aspect with an average of 88.54% on very good criteria, (2) design expert validation with an average of 87.06% on very good criteria, (3) teacher response with an average of 87.5% on very good criteria, (4) individual testing with an average of 78.46 % on very good criteria, (5) small group test with an average of 80.47% on very good criteria, and (6) limited field test with an average of 84.82% on very good criteria. The result of learning of writing short story text test by student before using module is equal to 74,65, while the result of learning writing short story text by student after using module increased equal to 84,54. The difference is 9.89 from before to after. This proves that teaching material for short story text developed can improve student learning outcomes by using short story text writing material based on 3M technique (copy-process-develop).

The Development of Local Wisdom of Labuhanbatu Based on Teaching Material of Descriptive Text For 7th Grade Student at Smp Negeri 1 Bilah Barat, Indonesia (Published)

This research aims to know the development result of local wisdom of Labuhanbatu based teching material of descriptive text for 7th grade students of State Junior High School 1 Bilah Barat. Teaching Material is in form of module. Used research method is research and development (R & D) referred on Borg & Gall proposed by Sugiyono. The tria subject consist of 3 students with individual trial, 9 students with small group trial, and 32 students with limited field trial. Technique of collecting data uses observation, interview, questionnaire and writing descriptive text test. The research result indicates that: (1) validation of material expert includes content expediency with average 87.18% on very good criterion, presenting expediency gets the average 85.19% on very good criterion, and language assessment gains 87.93% on very good criterion, (2) validation of design expert gets 91.58% on very good criterion, (3) teacher’s response is on the average 88.33% on very good criterion, (4) individual tria gets the average 74.61% on very good criterion, (5) small group trial gets 83.22% on very good criterion and (6) limited field trial is on average 90.18%. The gained result of effectivity of using local wisdom of Labuhanbatu based module of descriptive text material is 75.37 and the effectivity of textbook is 69.85. The different is 11.72 of using textbook and using module.
