Contribution of Learning Independence and Learning Discipline to Elementary School Students’ Learning Outcomes (Published)

Discipline and independence in learning are very important for a student. Various theories relate that if a student has a high level of independence and discipline in learning, he will also get good learning results. It is necessary to study the contribution of learning discipline and learning independence both jointly and partially to student learning outcomes. The study has been conducted at SD N 060937 Medan Johor, with a population of all grade IV students totaling 42 people who were also used as research samples. Data were obtained through questionnaires using the Likert scale at closed interviews and supporting documents held by the school. The data were analyzed parametrically while taking into account the prerequisite tests of analysis including normality tests and homogeneity tests. test the hypothesis using the Student t test. The results showed that learning discipline and learning independence together contributed positively and significantly to the learning outcomes of grade IV students of SD N 060937 Medan Johor

Developing Learning Media Integrated With Documentary Film on Social Science Subject in Class V Sdn 014680 Buntu Pane Academic Year 2018/2019 (Published)

This research aimed to develop documentary-based learning media in social study learning in class V  SD Negeri 014680 Buntu Pane. Then to find out the students’ responses on learning media integrated with documentary film in social study learning in class V SD Negeri 014680 Buntu Pane. And to find out the student’ learning outcomes of class V SD Negeri 014680 in learning social studies using learning media integrated with documentary film. This study used the development of R & D model, developing learning product was a model which was arranged systematically according to the learning characteristics of students. This research was carried out by distributing questionnaires and expert judgment sheets. The research findings showed: (1) The test from material experts on social studies subjects was in very good qualification (88.86%), (2) The test from design expert of learning media was in very good qualification (86,95%), (3) The test from learning media expert was in very good qualification (87,41%), (4) The test from individual trial was in very good qualification (94,17%), (5) The test from small group was in very good qualification (95,91%), (6) The test from limited field trial was in very good qualification (95,74%). The calculation result of t count = 5.98 while t table = 1.68. Because t count = 5.98> t table = 1.68, it could be concluded that there was significant difference in students’ learning outcomes between students who used learning media integrated with documentary film and those who did not use documentary film learning media. The final product of this study was a learning film CD. This research was conducted in class V SD Negeri 014680 Buntu Pane Academic Year 2018/2019 even semester with 24 students. Thus, this documentary-based learning media developed was effective to improve student learning outcomes.

The Effect of Teacher Performance on Student Learning Outcomes Public Elementary School 060934 Medan Johor Academic Year 2017/2018 (Published)

The Problem of this study is the performance of teachers and students learning outcomes in Public Elementary School 060934 Medan Johor Academic Year 2017/2018. One of the contributing factors is the demands of professionalism towords teachers in an educational institution called school. The purpose of this study for good results will be the benchmark of all the key eduacational components of quality performance. This research was conducted at Elementary School 060934 Medan Johor on March 27, 2018. The population of this study is the entire class of Elementary School 060934 Medan Johor amounted to 12 people as well as a sample of research. The data collection is questionnaire and hypothesis testing by using t-test. From the results of data analysis and hypothesis obtained the average value of teacher performance 105,83 average value of student learning outcomes 79,12. And the performance of teachers is better than the results of student learning in Elementary School 060934 Medan Johor Academic Year 2017/2018.

The Development of Student Worksheet with the Theme of I Am Special Character Based For Students Grade One In Public Primary School 060911 Menteng Medan (Published)

This study aims to produce student worksheets based on sub-themes 4 I am special in class one Public Primary School 060911 Menteng. It is research and development that refers to character formation using 4-D development. This model has four stages, they are define, design, plan, and disseminate. The results of the study show that data on the quality of product development is collected by the results of observations and questionnaires. The collected data are analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate (1) Validation of material experts on the assessment of material feasibility is in very good criteria (96.60%), (2) Validation of learning design is in very good criteria (95.75%); (3) Validation of the language is very good criteria (85.60%). The practicality of teaching materials is concluded based on the teacher’s and students’ responses; (i) Response of class 1-A students to character-based student worksheets in the stage of test field is 100% and Class 1-B  is 99%. The students says that the teaching material is practical, (ii) Teacher response to character based student worksheets in the trial is 100%, it is practical category. Likewise with the product effectiveness test, there are differences in learning outcomes of students using character based student worksheet. It can be concluded based on the results of post-test students at the stage of the test field,  the percentage of classical completeness is 100% with 28 students or 99% declared complete for grades 1-A and 1- B. All students complete the assessment. The assessment of student learning outcomes based on the pretest and posttest is analyzed by increasing the score in class 1-A is 46.24% to 100% and class 1-B is 64.28% to 100%.

Developing Comic as Learning Media With Sub-Theme “The Beauty Of My Country’s Cultural Diversity” On Social Science in Class IV Of Sdn 026609 Binjai Selatan (Published)

This study aims to: (1) produce learning comic media that is appropriate to use on the sub theme of the beauty of my country’s culture diversity in social science content in class IV; and (2) produce learning comic media on the sub theme of the beauty of my country’s culture diversity that is effective in social science content in class IV. This research is a development research using the development model of Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel, namely by designing a modified 4D model. The instruments used in the study were feasibility validation sheets which included aspects of content/material, language and presentation/design of comics, and test of learning outcomes. The first trial was conducted on students of class IV-a as many as 24 students and the second trial was conducted on IV-b class students by 25 students at SDN 026609 Binjai Selatan. The results of this study indicated that: (1) the learning comic media developed has been used properly; and (2) learning comic media on the sub theme of the beauty of my country’s culture diversity have been effective, judging from the achievement of student learning completeness. Furthermore, it is suggested that teachers can use comic learning media as an alternative learning to improve student learning outcomes.

The Difference Student Learning Outcomes Using Discovery Learning and Inquiry Learning in Elementary School (Published)

This research adopted the quasi experimental research design which aims to identify the differences student learning outcomes taught with discovery learning and inquiry learning. The research population is all students at SD Negeri 1 Jeumput Aceh, the sample in this research consisted of 2 classes at grade V that are class A and B taken by cluster random sampling technique where class A as discovery learning class which amounted to 27 students and class B as inquiry class which amounted to 28 students. The data collecting instruments were student activity observation sheets and achievement test that first conducted by content validation and empirical validation. The data analysis technique was the two-side quality test, first calculate the normality and homogeneity test of two sample group variants and initial ability tests. Results of data processing obtained data of both classes are normally distributed and homogeneous. The result of research there are significant differences between student learning outcomes taught with discovery learning and inquiry learning in elementary school.
