Proposed Criteria Matrix for Sustainable Smart Residential Compound Urban Development (Case Study: The New Administrative Capital in Egypt) (Published)
The research adopts the descriptive analytic approach and is divided into three parts. The first part is an inductive theoretical analysis of urban orientations in light of Egypt’s vision for the future 2030, which also examines sustainable development strategy. The second part explores the new urban compounds in light of future urbanization trends in Egypt, which include the establishment of a new capital city. This necessarily leads to studying the housing sector (housing is a consequence and not the aim of buildings capitals) and residential compound orientations from the perspective of sustainable and smart development to identify smart sustainable housing criteria applicable to realizing housing sustainability in Egypt. The third and final part of the research is an applied analytical study and an assessment, according to the measurement matrix, of housing sustainability in the new urban communities and includes a case study of the third residential district in the new administrative capital.
