Examining Principals’ Personnel Management Skills: The Interplay of Human Relations and Instructional Supervision in Delta State Secondary Schools (Published)
This study examined principals’ personnel management skills: the interplay of human relations and instructional supervision in Delta State secondary schools. It was guided by two research questions and hypotheses respectively. The research employed a correlational survey method within an ex-post-facto design. The study encompassed a population of 15,322 principals and teachers from Delta State Secondary Schools, from which a purposive sample of 380 principals and teachers was selected. The research utilized the Principals’ Personnel Management Skills of Human Relations and Instructional Supervision Questionnaire (PPMSHRISQ) as the instrument for data collection. Data analysis involved mean rating to address the research questions, while hypotheses were tested utilizing Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r) at a significance level of 0.05. Findings revealed that to a high extent, human relations and instructional supervision contribute significantly to effective personnel management by principals, in Delta State Secondary Schools. In conclusion, this study unveils crucial insights into the dynamics of personnel management by principals in Delta State Secondary Schools. It is evident from the data that both human relations and instructional supervision play substantial roles in contributing to effective personnel management. It was recommended that educational authorities and school leadership should prioritise professional development for principals, as human relations play a significant role in effective personnel management. These programmes should emphasise healthy connections, efficient communication, and a friendly workplace.

Perceptions of Teachers Toward Headteacher’s Instructional Supervision on Preparation of Professional Documents in Rombo District Tanzania (Published)
This study aimed to investigate on perceptions of primary teachers toward headteacher’s instructional supervision on preparation of professional documents in public primary schools. System theory was used to guide this study. The target population of the study was one hundred and forty-two primary schools, one hundred and forty-two Headteachers, one thousand three hundred and twenty-two teachers and District Education Officer from Rombo District. in this study. This study adopted an embedded mixed methods design under mixed methods approach. Both probability and nonprobability sampling procedures were used to select sample which consisted of 130 respondents. Questionnaire and interview guide were used as data collection instruments in this study. To ensure content validity of instruments two experts from Mwenge Catholic University were consulted to review the instrument. Cronbach Alpha was used to assess stability and consistency of the Likert type items in questionnaire, the items scored a coefficient reliability of 0.87 and for qualitative data estimation of reliability was done through member checking. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and were presented in frequency tables, percentages and mean by the aid of SPSS version 27. The study showed that perceptions of teachers toward head teacher’s instructional supervision on preparation of professional documents to be positive. Therefore, the study concluded that majority of teachers’ perception to be positive on head teachers’ instructional supervision towards preparation of professional documents in public primary schools. The study recommended that, the government and other owners of primary schools should make sure that their teachers attend in-service training frequently so as to update their knowledge on preparation of professional documents. Learning is a continuous process teacher have to update their knowledge frequently so as to become better facilitators of pupils in their classroom.

Principals Performance of Supervision of Instructions in Secondary Schools in Nigeria (Published)
The study examined principals’ performance of internal supervision of instructions in public secondary schools in Ebonyi State. Principals’ internal supervision was delimited to classroom supervision of instruction, monitoring students’ achievement, instructional materials and staff development. Two research questions and four hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted the descriptive survey research design. A sample of 605 out of 1640 teachers was drawn using stratified proportionate sampling techniques across urban and rural teachers. A questionnaire titled ‘principals’ performance of supervision of instruction questionnaire’ was used as the instrument. The data collected were analyzed using mean scores, standard deviation and t-test statistics to test the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha levels. The findings showed a significant positive difference between urban and rural teachers on principals’ performance of supervisory functions. The study recommended regular internal supervision of instruction since it encourages wider coverage of the curriculum and reduces incidences of examination malpractices by students
