Two terpenoids, β-Sitosterol (1) and β-sitostenone (2) mixture were isolated from the methanol fraction of the stem bark of Sarcocephalus latifolius (Smith Bruce). The structures of the compounds were established by spectroscopic studies and by comparison with existing data from literature. The antimicrobial properties of the isolated mixture of compound was carried out on some clinically selected microorganism and the result compared with a standard drug. Although these compounds had been in existence and isolated from various plant species, but this is the first time the mixture will be isolated from the stem bark of Sarcocephalus latifolius
