Arts Education: A Viable Vocational Area For Secondary School Students in a Recessive Economy: Implications for Counselling (Published)
Arts education with particular reference to Fine and Applied Arts, is a discipline that is yet to be sufficiently accorded its pride of place in the scheme of things in the Nigerian Educational space inspite of its usefulness and functionalities. The fact that arts permeate almost every aspect of human lives is at best, noticed but not fully appreciated. The researcher, therefore, explored more areas of utilities of this discipline on social functions, religion, industry, job creation and entrepreneurial skills. Comparative analysis emphasis were made between the arts vis-à-vis science and technology. In conclusion, the researcher recommended that more attention should be given to Fine and Applied Arts as a sure destination to employment opportunities in a recessive economy

An Appraisal of the Development of Special Education and the Achievement of Millennium Development Goals (MDG) In Rivers State (Published)
This study was carried out to examine the development of special education provision visa-vis the achievement of Millennium Development Goals (MDG) in Rivers State. The desire of every parent in particular and the society as a whole is to have normal and healthy children. The abnormalities that inevitably occur either by human errors or by natural imposition cannot stop the education of these ones. These abnormalities create sufficient disparities in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective development of children especially when they start schooling at various levels. It is on this premise, that this study is contemplated to assess the development of special education with the view of evaluating its parity in the realization of the Millennium Development Goals. It adopted historical survey method to assess quality education for these categories of learners. Policy provisions as well as an overview of the development of special education in Nigeria. Development of special education and the achievement of MDG in Rivers State way forward, that Government should ascertain the statistics of these persons, fund the education of these persons, enact requisite laws and there should be attitudinal change towards these people both from government and members of the public concerning persons with special needs amongst others.

Standardization and Indexing Of Basic Electricity Teacher Effectiveness in South Eastern Nigeria (Published)
This study provided Standardization and indexing of Basic Electricity Teachers effectiveness in the South Eastern states of Nigeria through effective classroom interaction analysis techniques. Four research questions and four research hypotheses guided the study. Pre-test, post-test, control group, quasi-experimental design was adopted for the study. Samples of 12 teachers and 511 SSII Basic Electricity students were randomly drawn from the population of 57 Basic Electricity Teachers and 932 students. Three validated instruments were used for data collection as follows: Basic Electricity interaction categories (BIC), Basic Electricity Interest Scales (BEIS) and Basic Electricity Achievement Test (BEAT). They were structured to cover the critical indices and criteria for wholesome teacher effectiveness. The reliability coefficient of the instruments were 0.978, 0.60 and 0.977 respectively. Percentages, mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while t-test statistic and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) were used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed the mean of means of critical teacher effectiveness indices and hence Basic Electricity Teachers’ effectiveness Benchmark was 58.75 score. It was then recommended that the federal and state ministries of education and Teacher Registration council should adopt this benchmark and enforce it for Basic Electricity Teachers recruitment, promotion and other academic/professional awards/rewards. After the efficacy had been established, this benchmark can then be adopted nationally for all teacher effectiveness assessments at all levels of education in Nigeria
