A Review of Cooperative Principle

Cooperative Principle was proposed by Grice, which can effectively enhance the persuasiveness of communication. However, interlocuters do not always agree with those principles and their flouting of those maxims can create implicatures to express their ideas. In this paper, the author will briefly introduce the CP theory, conversational implicature, and conventional implicature.
