Examination of the Impact of Learning Management System on University Undergraduate Students’ Academic Performance (Published)

The study examined the impact of Learning Management System (LMS) on university undergraduate student’s academic performance. The study adopted quasi-experimental design, the data for the study were collected through the use of online questionnaire and students’ academic achievement scores in Test and Measurement. The study sample comprised one hundred and four (104) university undergraduate students of Ajayi Crowther University Oyo. The result of the study revealed that there was positive relationship between the use of LMS and students’ academic performance. The findings of the study also revealed that there was significant difference in academic performance of both male and female university undergraduate students taught with LMS and those that were taught with traditional method. The study further revealed that the usage of LMS is hindered with some factors among which are low levels of commitment of the lecturers to the use of LMS, lack of ICT based learning strategy as well as inability of lecturers to provide the needed technical support. The study equally revealed that effective usage of LMS can be recorded by organizing ICT training for both the lecturers and students and improvement of infrastructural facilities will go a long way in improving the effective usage of LMS for teaching and learning process. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that the use of LMS should be encouraged in Nigeria tertiary institutions, lecturers and students should be encouraged to improve their computer literacy skills for effective usage of LMS, government and curriculum development agencies should incorporate learning management system usage into  tertiary institutions’ curriculum as one of the modes of instructional delivery and that learning management system facilities should be adequately provided in Nigeria tertiary institutions.

Determination of Teachers’ Perception on the Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on the Academic Achievement of Secondary School Students: A Study of Some Selected States in the North Eastern, Nigeria (Published)

The determination of teachers’ perception on the impact of covid-19 pandemic on the academic achievement of secondary school students: a study of some selected states in the north eastern, Nigeria was a survey study. The population comprised all teachers of public senior secondary schools in the north-eastern geo-political zone, Nigeria. Structured questionnaire was used to elicit data from the respondents. Data collected was analysed using frequency counts and simple percentages. Conclusion and recommendations were drawn based on the results of the findings.

The Impression of Technology Education on the Graphic Design Programme at Takoradi Technical University (Published)

The study sought to find out the influence of today’s Technology on the Graphic Design programme being pursued by Higher National Diploma (HND) students at the Department of Graphic Design Technology. This is against the background that Technology forms an integral part of the Graphic Design programme in the 21st century. An in-depth review of related literature from various authors have been discussed concerning the study. Through non-probability purpose sampling, an aggregate of 134 students and teaching staff were selected for the study. The research methodology employed for the study included the use of participant observation and questionnaire to reveal key findings for the study. This was complemented with proper structured and semi-structured interview techniques to beseech views from respective respondents for practical analysis. Consequently, the researchers’ findings from the data revealed that Technology had had some level of impacts on the Graphic Design programme. Based on the findings the researchers have made appropriate recommendations to help include the contemporary trends in the Technology for the Graphic Design programme in the technical university to prepare students adequately with the requite hands-on training as the Graphic Design industry in Ghana and beyond demands; although the importance and the practices cannot be over emphasised.

Impact of Career Choice in Secondary Schools and Counselling Services in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria (Published)

This study investigate career choice in secondary schools and career counselling Service in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. Intelligent children from poor socio -economic background should be encouraged by the government to take professional courses through scholarship, which will help them, enhance a brighter future. Teacher should also be allowed to identify the best course for each child through continues assessment and career counselling orientation, workshops and seminars should be organized for parents and students aimed at changing their mind set on gender streaming as Source of influence, parent or mentors should be brought into circle of counselling and discussion to help the student in a comprehensive career plan. Industries should invest resource for the purpose of training students, while still in secondary schools. Student should follow a career plan of informed decision making, rather than one of hypothesis.
