The Role of Conversational AI Bots in Real-Time Equipment Maintenance and Repair

Abstract

The integration of conversational AI bots has transformed industrial maintenance by revolutionizing how technicians interact with complex machinery. These intelligent systems provide immediate diagnostic support, enable predictive maintenance through IoT sensor networks, and deliver hands-free assistance via augmented reality glasses. By engaging in a natural dialogue with maintenance personnel, these bots guide troubleshooting processes, identify equipment failures before they occur, and facilitate knowledge transfer across organizations. The convergence with wearable technologies creates powerful capabilities for field technicians, allowing them to receive visual guidance while simultaneously performing repairs. Despite implementation challenges including system integration complexities and user acceptance barriers, organizations implementing these technologies experience significant reductions in downtime, maintenance costs, and repair times while extending equipment lifespan and improving maintenance effectiveness.
