The quality of healthcare service delivery remains a concern in tertiary hospitals, where inadequate environmental awareness, weak green-oriented performance practices, and limited employee participation in environmental initiatives may affect employee performance and service outcomes. This study examined the effects of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices on employee performance in tertiary hospitals in South-South Nigeria. Specifically, the study examined the effects of green training and development, green performance management, and green employee involvement on quality of service delivery. A survey research design was adopted. The population comprised 13,637 clinical and non-clinical staff of six selected tertiary hospitals, from which a sample of 375 respondents was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan table. Proportionate stratified sampling followed by simple random sampling was used to select respondents. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analysed using descriptive statistics, including frequency counts, percentages, mean and standard deviation, while hypotheses were tested using simple regression analysis with SPSS version 27. The findings revealed that green training and development had a significant positive effect on quality of service delivery. Green performance management also had a significant positive effect, while green employee involvement significantly enhanced quality of service delivery. The study concludes that GHRM practices are important for improving employee performance and quality of service delivery in tertiary hospitals. It recommends strengthening green training, integrating environmental criteria into performance management, and increasing employee participation in green initiatives.
