Financial Risk of Investment Projects: Evaluation, Analysis, and Management

Abstract

This research paper discusses the role of financial risk management in improving project performance and mitigating project failures in Iraq. Most real investment projects suffer from implementation delays, and the majority of their problems are financial in nature. The research examines financial risk management through the steps of identification, evaluation, analysis, and management, represented by strategies that can be adopted to mitigate risks. This research analyzes the opinions of a sample of investment specialists in investment agencies, as they are the most experienced and knowledgeable about stalled projects. Their opinions were surveyed using a questionnaire, and the results were analyzed using SPSS software. The research problem was whether the quantitative evaluation, analysis, and management of financial risks contribute to improving project performance and success. The main research hypothesis was that financial risk management contributes to improving the performance of investment projects. The research concluded that financial risk management explains 78% of project successes. Improving its Performance.
