Bharati Mukherjee is a Third World Feminist writer whose preoccupation is to deal with the problems and issues related with the South Asian Women in general and India in particular.Like her contemporary feminist writers she also raises her voice for the cause of freedom and emancipation of women from the rotten traditional norms. Her present novel Desirable Daughters also champions the same cause of the author.
