The objective of the study was to analyze the chemical composition of the essential oils isolated from wild species of thyme collected in the Middle Atlas in Morocco (region of Midelt). These species has been identified. In the Central Middle Atlas regions (Midelt), our study revealed the existence of the species Thymus munbyanus Boiss. & Reuter, Thymus willdenowii Boiss., et Thymus satureioides Cosson. The essential oils were isolated by hydrodistillation, and analyzed by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC /MS). This technique identified for Thymus munbyanus Boiss. & Reuter of Itzer 29 compounds representing (92.38%) of the total oils, 28 compounds for Thymus willdenowii Boiss of Annzala 1 showing (94.76%), 18 compounds for Thymus satureioides Cosson of Annzala 2 showing (99.91%), 24 compounds for Thymus munbyanus Boiss. & Reuter of Tizen’t lghem representing 100% and 27 compounds for Thymus munbyanus Boiss. & Reuter collected in Dar ait M’barek representating (99.98%). Essential oils of thyme collected in Midelt regions are rich in camphor: (24.87%) for T. munbyanus of Itzer, (24.99%) for T. willdenowii of Annzala 1, (21.83%) for T. munbyanus of Tizen’t lghem. (36.63%) for T. munbyanus collected in Dar Ait M’Barek.
