Green Project Management in the Construction Sector in Greece

Abstract

Green Project Management is directly related to the practices of technical companies for the construction of technical projects based on a sustainable design with the central objective of minimizing or eliminating negative environmental impacts, saving resources and minimizing the use of non-renewable energy sources. This work is aims at investigating the current situation regarding the application of green administration and management of technical projects and highlighting the importance of this application in terms of limiting environmental pollution by the Technical Companies of the construction sector in Greece. The research was conducted by distributing a questionnaire to a random sample of 60 employees – engineers of Greek technical companies in the construction sector, with experience in the management of Technical Projects. The results of the research showed significant deficiencies in the application of green management practices of technical projects in Greece and in the improper use of raw materials and green products as well as serious deficiencies in the financing of construction companies.
